Interior Door Restoration

Stripping, sanding, and re-hanging five solid oak internal doors to ensure perfect closing.

The solid oak doors in this home had been covered by layers of thick, dated paint and mismatched hardware. They felt heavy, looked cluttered, and many no longer closed properly due to years of paint buildup on the hinges and edges.

We carefully removed each door to strip away the old paint layers, revealing the high-quality grain underneath. After a precision sanding, we applied a clear matte finish to protect the wood. Finally, we re-hung the doors with new, matching hardware and adjusted the frames for a perfect, silent close.

The interior was instantly transformed. By restoring the original doors instead of replacing them, we added a sense of luxury and history to the home. The natural wood now provides a warm, modern contrast to the white walls, and every door functions like new.
